Top 16 Traffic Sources For Your Blog in 2025 (Besides Google)

You know that feeling when your blog starts receiving traffic. A blog is nothing without its readers.

One of the major traffic sources that everyone focuses on is Google search, because it is organic and users are likely to take action on your blog. People do SEO for this.

But with the September HCU update, March core update, and AI overviews, the organic traffic has decreased to almost zero. Many bloggers have experienced a significant loss in traffic, with no alternative sources available to them.

Lesson learned: Don’t rely on Google search traffic. Build multiple blog traffic sources so that if one fails, others will still send users.

Traffic Sources For Website

Besides Google, there are a ton of websites and platforms that you can use to expand your reach and eventually bring in traffic. These are social media platforms, forums, etc. I know you already know most of them, but don’t miss any one of them.

1. Facebook

Facebook is the largest social media platform in every part of the world. With billions of active users across all age groups, you have a massive source of traffic for your website.

You just need to create your account, then a Facebook page for your blog, and start posting quality content that will go viral. You can also create a Facebook group, collect members, and share your blog posts in it.

2. Instagram

Instagram is the best place to grab young people, as they are the most active users. If you haven’t created an account for your website on Instagram, do it now! Start posting awesome content.

Your main focus should be on reels, as they are the most consumed content on Instagram. If any of your reels go viral and you mention your blog in them, you’ll receive a large amount of traffic in a short period of time.

3. X (Twitter)

Elon Musk has renamed Twitter to X, but the platform itself hasn’t changed much. You need to create an account and start posting tweets. Threads have a higher chance of generating more engagement.

There is one trick to increasing the reach of your tweet. In your tweet, mention that you have a secret tip, and encourage those who are interested to like and comment on it. This type of tweet has gotten more views.

4. LinkedIn

Even though LinkedIn caters to professionals, if your blog focuses on jobs, programming, business, or any other widely shared niche, you should establish your profile and begin sharing valuable content.

I won’t recommend creating a company page on LinkedIn, as it doesn’t have much reach and engagement as compared to personal profiles. Focus on growing your connections and followers.

5. WhatsApp

Just like Facebook, WhatsApp has spread to every country and has billions of users that you can reach directly. It is the best source for expanding your business, reaching customers, and, of course, increasing traffic.

You need to create a WhatsApp group for your website and share content in it. This will bring you instant traffic and loyal users who are interested in reading your blog. WhatsApp has also introduced channels like Telegram, so you can try them too.

6. Pinterest

After the surge in Google searches, many bloggers shifted their focus to Pinterest to increase their traffic. And yes, it has huge potential. The secret is to create catchy, beautiful, and attractive pins. Your pin should stand out among the others.

To grow your account and increase reach, I recommend sharing 5–6 or more pins every day. You can use Pin Generator to create pins in bulk, schedule them, and save time. You’ll receive traffic from Tier 1 countries.

7. Tumblr

No one recommends Tumblr, and you may not have even heard about it. However, if your blog focuses on images, you should consider using Tumblr as it is an image-rich platform. I won’t write much about it; research on your own.

8. Reddit

Google loves Reddit. It now ranks at the top for almost all keywords, and there’s no reason for you to skip it. Create an account, join subreddits, and start posting. Also, comment on other people’s posts.

You need to avoid sharing links if your account is new, or you’ll be banned. First, gain some karma points, build your profile, and then share links naturally. Don’t spam! Make posts with keywords that you want to rank for.

9. YouTube

People watch YouTube just as much as they read blogs (even more). The great thing about YouTube is that you’ll not only get traffic from your channel but also earn money through its partner program.

There are two ways to direct the viewer to your website. One is adding the link in the description, and the second is mentioning your website in the video. The second one has a higher probability of conversion than the first one.

10. Telegram

Just like WhatsApp, you should create groups and channels on Telegram and start posting content. You can share freebies or anything else that people want in order to grow your membership. Then, you’ll have an instant traffic source.

11. TikTok

Once you create a reel, you can upload it on Instagram, YouTube (shorts), and TikTok. You know how TikTok works, so I’m not going to explain more. Just keep sharing viral content with a hook and promoting your blog.

12. Quora

Google also loves Quora (even though it is now filled with AI answers). It always ranks below Reddit in the search results. Getting traffic from Quora is easier than from Reddit because you just need to write answers.

After creating your profile, start answering questions in your niche. In the beginning, don’t just add links to your blog; add value to your answer. After a few days and writing some answers, add only one link to your answers, naturally.

13. Medium

Medium is a content-rich platform where people write articles and create publications. These articles rank on the first page of the search engines. It is one of the top parasite SEO sites (along with LinkedIn).

You just need to create an account to start publishing content. It also has the option to import a blog post that you have already published. But you should edit it to make it unique and avoid plagiarism.

14. Newsletter

Even if all the search engines and social media platforms shut down, your email subscribers will stay with you. Hence, you need to collect emails from your readers and send them newsletters regularly.

Building an email list is always a good choice, and everyone should do it. You can use Mailchimp, Beehiiv, and MailerLite to collect emails. You can offer a freebie in exchange for the reader’s email address.

15. Push Notifications

Just like emails, push notifications are also a good way to build an audience and send notifications directly to their device. But sometimes it looks spammy to the user, and they may unsubscribe.

You can add push notifications to your blog with OneSignal, PushEngage, or TruePush for free. I recommend this for websites related to jobs, current affairs, news, and other updates.

16. Bonus: Bing

After what Google is doing to small bloggers, the next popular search engine, Bing, is the main organic source of traffic. Even one of my blogs now has major Bing users (previously, it was Google).

You need to create a Bing webmaster account, which is the same as Google search console. Analyze the keywords and track their performance to grow your blog and rank it on Bing.

Conclusion

I hope you’ve learned about some new traffic sources and begun working on them. Believing that Google will rank your blog again is a dangerous idea. I recommend you start building a loyal audience for your blog.
