APK Site Case Study: How I Made $7453 & How You Can Do It Too

This is a detailed case study of one of my successful micro niche APK websites. Read on to learn all the key details.

I launched this site in July 2023 with a fresh domain after my Korean drama blog was hit by Google. I created the homepage and other necessary pages and waited for them to get indexed.

A few days later, the site started getting traffic and ranked on the first page for the app’s name. Once I saw traffic coming in, I applied for AdSense and got approved without any policy violations.

In September 2023, traffic started growing fast. Soon, the site was receiving 4K–5K daily organic views. By December 2023, and through January and February 2024, my site was consistently getting around 150K visitors per month.

Then came the March 2024 Google Core Update, which wiped out many niche sites. My site was also affected, and traffic dropped to 1K–2K daily views. This led to a decline in earnings.

I had monetized the site using AdSense, Monetag, Adsterra, and AdMaven. My AdSense account was later blocked in November 2024, and this was the only site on that account. Below, I have attached earnings screenshots, including AdSense transaction proofs.

Monetag Revenue ($682)

Adsterra Revenue ($1330)
apk site admaven
AdMaven Revenue ($854)

For a short period, I tried Bidgear and made $50.

Total Revenue:
1407+3130+682+1330+854+50 = $7453

I also created two more similar sites targeting the same app, but they did not succeed. They got some traffic for a few months and then died out.

Currently, my main APK site still gets 500–600 daily visitors, and I am monetizing it with AdMaven only. I no longer actively work on it, but it still generates some revenue.

How You Can Start an APK Site

If you want to start your own micro niche APK site, follow these steps:

  1. Find a Low-Competition APK Keyword
    • Use Ahrefs or SEMrush to search for “APK” keywords.
    • Filter results by low keyword difficulty and manually check rankings in Google.
    • Do this research for different countries.
  2. Check the Competition
    • If few sites are ranking for a particular app, you can create a niche site for it.
  3. Build Your Site
    • Create a homepage with app screenshots, features, and details.
    • Use KeywordTool.io to find related keywords and create more pages.
  4. Do SEO & Promotion
    • Focus on off-page SEO and build foundational backlinks.
    • Create social media profiles for extra traffic.
  5. Evaluate Performance
    • If you don’t get traffic within a month, stop working on that site and move on to a new keyword.
