YouTube creators are making thousands of dollars by uploading shorts. Some are even making millions, and if you are creative, you can do it too!
Creating YouTube shorts requires an idea and video editing skills. You also need to create original shorts; otherwise, your channel will not be eligible for monetization. To get more views, you need to upload multiple shorts every day.
But if you don’t want to spend your time creating and editing shorts, you can hire a video editor. You can find dedicated shorts creators who will create content specifically for your channel.
Shorts creators often charge $10–$100 per short video, depending on its duration and quality. This is risky because it doesn’t guarantee views and monetization. Your money could go down the drain.
Instead of hiring video editors, you can use AI to create shorts. This will save you time and money. You may have watched some YouTube shorts that are faceless and just a narrative. These are AI-made.
Creating YouTube Shorts With AI
AI has made it easy to create digital content, including blog posts, videos, books, images, and more. Today, you can find thousands of platforms dedicated to using AI to perform various tasks.
There are different AI video generators that create videos based on a prompt given by the user. It may even write the video script and add images, stock videos, texts, and voice to the generated video.

These video generators are not free. To create videos, you must purchase their subscription plan. While some of them offer a free trial, it is not enough to run a YouTube channel. But these plans are cheaper than hiring freelancers.
I have tried a few AI video generators to create a short video. I’m adding them here, but you should do your own research and choose the one that best fits your needs.
InVideo AI
You may already be familiar with this platform. InVideo is my favorite video maker because it writes scripts and creates videos with AI voices and captions. It offers to create 10 minutes of videos for free each week, but only 4 exports per week.

I recommend you choose the Plus plan, which will cost you $50 per month. You’ll get 100 minutes of videos per month, which translates to 100 shorts per month, which is enough to grow a channel. It also includes iStock media and voice clones.
OpusClip
This is not exactly an AI video generator. It is a tool that repurposes long videos into different shorts. You might have seen shorts that feature a clip from a podcast or an interview. These are the clips from the original video.

OpusClip analyzes your video, breaks it into clips, adds effects and captions, and shares it on social media. It offers a free plan with limitations. The paid plans start at just $15 per month. You can check the pricing on its website.
VideoGen
VideoGen is similar to InVideo AI in terms of generating a video. It also has an additional tool to generate AI images that you can use in your videos. It creates a script based on the topic that you provide and then generates the video.

To give it a try, you get 10,000 characters (~10 minutes) for free. The pro plan costs $29 per month and includes 1 hour of videos per month (~60 YouTube shorts), 4K downloads, and 50+ life-like voices. The yearly plan offers a 50% discount.
You can use many more platforms, such as VEED, Steveai, Vizard, and Kapwing. The above ones are my recommendations, as they are affordable and produce good-quality videos.
The next step is to upload the shorts. You can either upload them manually every day or schedule them. Scheduling is the best option, and it can be done in the YouTube studio itself. You don’t need to rely on any external platform.
Growing YouTube Shorts Channel
Just uploading shorts will not help you gain views or grow your channel. You need to optimize your video’s SEO to reach a larger audience. Your uploading frequency also matters a lot.
Optimize Shorts
You can use VidIQ or TubeBuddy to optimize your shorts. Conduct keyword research, find out trending topics, and create shorts accordingly. Optimize titles and descriptions, and use hashtags that are relevant and trending.
Build Engagement
When you start getting comments on your short videos, reply to them. Engaging with your viewers creates loyal followers and benefits you in the long run. Use community posts to interact with your subscribers.
Keep Experimenting
Keep an eye on the analytics. If you see that a certain type of short video is receiving more views, create similar types of content. Experiment with different types of content, video durations, and posting times.
Promote Everywhere
Besides YouTube, you should try sharing your videos on TikTok and Instagram. This not only helps you gain more exposure, but you’ll also be able to monetize them. Share links to your shorts on social media.
YouTube Shorts Monetization
The most important part is to monetize your channel to earn money. This is the primary motivation behind your work. Earlier, YouTube wouldn’t pay for short videos, but it is now paying a lot of money.
To earn money, you need to join the YouTube Partner Program. To be eligible, you must have 1000 subscribers and 10 million public short views within the last 90 days. This seems impossible, but you shouldn’t lose hope.

If you haven’t reached the eligible criteria but are gaining some views, you can explore other methods to monetize your shorts. I’ve added a few methods for you to try:
Sponsorships: Secure deals with brands or sponsors and actively promote their products. They’ll pay you for this.
Digital Products: Sell digital products such as online courses, ebooks, templates, etc. They are booming right now.
Donations: Accept donations from your subscribers if you provide valuable content. You can also offer membership.
Sell Channel: If you are unable to continue your channel, selling it would be the best option. People buy old channels with good content.
Conclusion
Starting a YouTube channel is easy, but being consistent in posting content is hard. Most people give up within a month. It may take months to see results, so never lose hope and keep working. All the best!
